Appointments

Patients are seen by prior appointment. Appointments can be made either by emailing us or calling us or - preferably - at the time of the previous visit. The doctor will make every effort to see you on time though delays do occur, and we would appreciate your understanding. If you cannot keep an appointment please email (or call) the office as soon as possible, so that we may use that time for another patient.

Emergencies

You can reach Dr. Ravi at our phone number twenty-four hours of the day. After office hours calls are directed to his automated answering service. Please follow the instructions that you hear when you call after-hours. Dr. Ravi usually calls back immediately (unless he is tied up at surgery). If you have keyed in your number into his automated answering service and have not heard from him within half an hour, it could mean that he has not been able to reach you for some reason. Please check your phone and call him again. If you have a caller ID block, he may not be able to reach you unless you “unblock” your phone.

Messages

We return phone calls the same day they are received. If you have not heard from Dr. Ravi within twenty-four hours, it means that he was unable to reach you for some reason, so please call again. Sending us emails or “secure messages” is the best way to have a non-emergent issue addressed. This can be set up after you see Dr. Ravi. Please click the button TO ACCESS YOUR RECORD on our webpage and you will see how you can send these secure messages.

Prescription Refills

If you need a prescription refill, please email us or call during office hours and at least a week before the prescription runs out. While the doctor will usually recall the details of your medical situation, as a precaution he may have to review your record before the renewal is called in. It is therefore difficult to renew medications over the weekend or after hours.

Second Opinion

If at any time in the course of your evaluation you would like a second opinion, we will be happy to cooperate in every way possible. If you wish, we can suggest names of physicians in our specialty in University Hospitals and referral centers.

Laboratory tests and X-rays

These tests can be done in the hospital or in diagnostic laboratories. We do not have a financial interest in any of these facilities. If your insurer has a contract with a facility, then all lab work must be done there for your insurance to cover those tests.

Fees

Fees charged vary with the complexity of the problem at hand and the time required for examination, review of records and conferring with other physicians. Your insurance coverage may also determine the fee. We accept assignment on all Medicare claims. The receptionist will be able to let you know what our fee for a particular service would be. As a courtesy we will fill out insurance forms and submit them to your insurer.
